Okashi no Hidaka, the birthplace of Miyazaki's beloved 'cheese manju,' is an essential stop when visiting Miyazaki Prefecture. These moreish dumplings combine Hokkaido cream cheese with smooth anko in a uniquely Japanese-Western fusion that has become iconic to the region. The main shop on Tachibana-dori sees constant queues of tourists and returning locals alike, all seeking the freshly baked version. Seasonal products using local Hyuga citrus and kabosu add further reasons to return. Located at 3-3-8 Tachibana-dori Nishi, Miyazaki City.
